Decorative films often encounter some problems with the treatment of gaps during film application. There are generally two types of gaps mentioned here. One is the treatment requirements for the joints of the base layer during film application, and the other is the problem of the joints of decorative films during film application. We will answer each of these questions one by one
First of all, let me talk about the method of processing the splicing seams in the base layer when applying decorative films:
1、 It depends on the size of the splicing joint. Generally, splicing joints within 1mm can be left untreated or smoothed with atomic putty. After the atomic putty is dry, it can be polished and leveled.
2、 For those larger than 1mm but less than 3mm, atomic ash can also be used for filling. It should be noted that multiple filling should be carried out to avoid internal hollowing, which may cause later collapse and other issues.
3、 For large gaps larger than 5mm, internal filling can be carried out using gypsum, atomic ash, wood blocks, etc. After filling the interior, the surface of the atomic ash can be filled flat. After polishing and smoothing, the film can be applied.
It should be noted that when applying decorative film, the primer should be applied evenly to the areas treated with atomic ash. During film application, this can ensure that there will be no problems such as blistering and peeling in the later stage.
